Toronto FC II returns home for a Canada Day clash with the Harrisburg City Islanders this Saturday. To get you set here is everything you need to know about the Islanders.


2017 Season:

The Islanders have had a poor 2017 thus far. They currently own a 3-7-4 record, good for 13th in the Eastern Conference. Harrisburg has struggled to find the back of the net with any consistency, tallying just ten goals in their 14 games.

Last time we met:

The two sides last met in August of last season. The Islanders took the match 1-0 at the OSC. All time Toronto FC II holds a 1-3-1 record against the Islanders. The lone victory for the Reds came in July of 2016 when they defeated the Islanders 4-2 in Harrisburg. Raheem Edwards opened the scoring before Ayo Akinola scored a brace and Aidan Daniels added the fourth.

Key Player: Rasheed Olabiyi

The former Houston Dynamo midfielder is in his first season with Harrisburg. The native of Nigeria spent seven years playing in his native country before coming stateside in 2015. Olabiyi made seven appearances for the Dynamo in 2015. This season with the Islanders Olabiyi has played in 13 games and has made a team-high 695 passes. He has created 15 chances and has been credited with one assist. He has also added a goal on nine shots.


Unsung Hero: Lee Nishanian

Nishanian is in his first season with the Islanders after spending the previous three seasons with LA Galaxy II. The defender leads the team with 52 clearances, three blocks, and 27 interceptions. He has also made 504 passes at a 72.6% success rate. The former Thunder Bay Chill defender is a key in the Harrisburg backline.

There are currently no Canadians on the Harrisburg City Islanders roster.

The Islanders play in a fairly standard 4-3-3 formation with two wingers on each side of a single striker.
