Last time we met: Sporting Kansas City

Morrow vs. SKC

Toronto FC will take the field for its eleventh season in 2017 and will do so as defending MLS Eastern Conference champions. The Reds will open up their season on the road when they travel to Salt Lake City to take on Real Salt Lake on March 4, 2017. The Reds will kick off their 2017 home schedule at BMO Field when they play host to Sporting Kansas City on Friday, March 31 2017.

Sporting Kansas City will always occupy a significant place in Toronto FC history. On April 28, 2007, the Reds played the inaugural game at BMO Field against the then Kansas City Wizards. The Wizards’ Eddie Johnson would score the first goal in the history of BMO Field in the 81st minute as the Wizards went on to take the game 1-0.

Toronto FC holds an all-time 4-14-5 record against Kansas City. In 2016, the two teams met in March at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City. Sporting won the match 1-0 on a 70th-minute goal from Brad Davis.
The Reds’ last victory against Sporting came in the 2013 season home opener. The Reds defeated SKC 2-1 in front of 25,991 at the Rogers Centre.

So for now, the Reds know they will be playing on March 4 in Salt Lake City. Then they will travel to Philadelphia to play in the Union’s home opener on March 11. The remainder of the 2017 MLS schedule will be released at a later date.
