When and where is the MLS Cup?

The 2016 MLS Cup will be played on December 10 at BMO Field. Kickoff is set for 8:00PM.

Who does Toronto FC play?

Toronto FC will host the Western Conference Champion Seattle Sounders in the 2016 MLS Cup. The Sounders defeated the Colorado Rapids 3-1 on aggregate to advance to the clubs’ first MLS Cup appearance. Seattle finished the regular season in impressive form getting points from seven out of their final eight matches.

The Reds and the Sounders have only met once this season. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw on July 2 at BMO Field. Jordan Hamilton scored for the Reds in 60th minute. However, off the ensuing kickoff the 2016 AT&T Rookie of the Year Jordan Morris scored an incredible Goal of the Year candidate to level it up.

The Reds all-time record against the Sounders is 2-7-2. However, the two teams have split the three most recent matches including a 2-1 victory in Seattle to open the 2014 season.

What is the format of the MLS Cup Final?

The MLS Cup final is a one-game winner-take-all match. If the two teams are tied after 90 minutes, they will play two 15-minute halves of added extra time. If the deadlock has not been broken the 2016 MLS Cup will be decided by penalty kicks.
