Marky Delgado

Toronto FC announced Wednesday that the club has re-signed midfielder Marco Delgado to a multi-year deal.

“Marky has earned this extension through his consistent production and has developed into a key contributor over the past two seasons for our club,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “He has been a reliable part of our roster and our coaching staff is pleased with his development and potential as a young player within our league.”

Delgado, 21, is currently in his second season with Toronto FC and fifth in Major League Soccer. Delgado has made 53 appearances, scoring five goals with five assists across all competitions (MLS league play, MLS playoffs, Amway Canadian Championship) for TFC. In five seasons in MLS, Delgado has made 86 appearances, scoring seven goals with seven assists (MLS league play, MLS playoffs). Delgado joined Toronto FC on November 19, 2014 when the club selected him in the Chivas USA Dispersal Draft. A product of the Chivas USA Youth Academy, Delgado signed a Homegrown contract in April 2012 at the age of 16.

Delgado has represented the U.S. at several youth national teams (U-15, U-17 and U-20). During the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, he started in all five matches helping the U.S. reach the quarterfinals.
