Toronto FC announced Friday that the club has loaned goalkeeper Clint Irwin to Toronto FC II of the United Soccer League (USL). Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, Toronto FC retain the right to recall the player at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.

“We are all excited for Clint as his road to recovery will take another step forward this weekend. This will be a great opportunity for Clint to get some meaningful match minutes as he makes his return from injury,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “This is also an exciting chance for our fans to see a first team goalkeeper play for TFC II.”

Irwin, 27, is currently in his first season with Toronto FC. He has made a combined 18 appearances with a 7-5-5 record, registering eight clean sheets across MLS league play and the Amway Canadian Championship.
