Toronto FC announced today that the club has recalled goalkeeper Quillan Roberts from its USL PRO Club affiliate Wilmington Hammerheads FC.

“We are excited and encouraged by the progress Quillan made with Wilmington over the course of his loan this season,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “We wanted to ensure we have three keepers on our roster as we head into the second half of the season. I’d like to thank Wilmington for providing Quillan with an excellent professional soccer environment over the past five months.”

Roberts, 19, has appeared and started in 17 matches, logging 1514 minutes, with a record of 5-4-8 while registering six clean sheets. He was named the USL PRO Player of the Week for Week 18, and was also named to the USL PRO Team of the week for week eight. Roberts appeared in a friendly match for the Wilmington Hammerheads FC against Toronto FC on June 18 where he started the match and played the full 90 minutes. Most recently, he appeared in Toronto FC’s July 23 friendly versus Tottenham Hotspur, logging 45 minutes against the English Premier League club.
