Tuesday Training

Toronto FC will switch things up a bit on Tuesday morning. The Reds normally meet the media before heading out to training up at Downsview Park. On Tuesday, they’ll dedicate the entire morning and early afternoon to their training session before reconvening for media scrums at BMO Field mid-afternoon.

Toronto FC TV will be on hand to bring the latest coach & player reactions as the Reds prepare for Saturday’s match against Chicago Fire (TSN 2, 3:30 p.m. ET) at BMO Field.

Frings Return?

Toronto captain Torsten Frings revealed to the media last week that his injured hamstring was feeling much stronger but held back against Chivas USA under medical advice. His status for Saturday against Chicago will be on the minds of TFC supporters and head coach Aron Winter will likely address his captain’s fitness on Tuesday. While Frings has the unenviable task of wearing the 'saviour' tag due to Toronto’s poor start in MLS this season, injecting him into the lineup – if available – should give TFC an immediate boost.

Firepower For Chicago

Saturday's opponent Chicago Fire has bolstered its squad this week by adding Chris Rolfe to the mix. The winger spent five seasons with Chicago after being selected in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft. Rolfe spent the past two years playing in Denmark. In Rolfe's last appearance at BMO Field he scored the opening goal in a 2-0 Chicago victory on May 16, 2009.

Equipment Drive

Toronto FC will take part in Play It Forward powered by Kia at Saturday’s BMO Field match. TFC supporters are encouraged to donate their gently used soccer equipment (boots, shinpads, uniforms, etc) so that they can be used to play the beautiful game by those that are less fortunate. Reds’ partner Kia will be supporting the program by delivering the items to charitable organizations across Ontario.
