Toronto FC announced Tuesday that the club has re-signed defender Mark Bloom to a new multi-year deal. As per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are excited for Mark, he has earned this contract through his performances for our club,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “Today marks another important step in our offseason plans and we are happy to have finalized this deal with Mark.”

Bloom, 27, has made a combined 35 appearances and registered two assists between MLS league matches and the Amway Canadian Championship during his time with Toronto FC.

“I’m very excited to re-sign with TFC and remain in Toronto,” said Mark Bloom. “I believe this club has what it takes to be successful and I look forward being here for several years.”

Bloom originally joined Toronto FC on loan from NASL side Atlanta Silverbacks on July 12, 2013. At Atlanta, Bloom was part of the Silverbacks’ NASL Spring season championship side where he started in all 12 matches, adding one assist and logging 1,080 minutes for the club. Prior to joining Atlanta, Bloom played for the Charlotte Eagles of the USL Pro League. He signed his first professional contract in 2010 with AC St. Louis of the USSF Division 2 Professional League. Before turning pro, Bloom played his collegiate soccer at Berry College. During his time at Berry College, Bloom was named team M.V.P. in his senior year and helped the team win two conference titles.
