Toronto FC announced Wednesday that the club has re-signed midfielder Benoît Cheyrou.
“Benoit has been an important player for Toronto FC over the past two seasons, and he is part of our core group,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “His wealth of experience has helped us throughout the season in both the regular season and playoffs in what was a historic year for the club. We are very excited to bring him back to Toronto FC.”
Cheyrou, 35, completed his second season in MLS and with Toronto FC. He has made 52 appearances, scoring three goals with nine assists across all competitions (MLS league play, MLS playoffs and the Amway Canadian Championship) for TFC. Cheyrou originally signed with Toronto FC on January 29, 2015.
