BEHIND ENEMY LINES
Toronto FC head to the Garden State to take on Red Bull New York at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey on Saturday evening. The Reds currently hold a 59W-179L-82T all-time record (259 points) in MLS regular season matches on the road.

THROUGH THE YEARS
TFC face one of the league’s 10 original clubs, Red Bull New York, for the 46th regular season meeting between the sides. Historically, TFC hold a 9W-24L-12T record through their first 45 encounters with Red Bull. Earlier this year, TFC hosted Red Bull New York, led by former captain Michael Bradley, in their MLS Home Opener, settling for a point after Dániel Sallói’s opener was cancelled out by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s late equalizer on March 14. Toronto now seek their first road win over Red Bull since March 6, 2016, when goals from Sebastian Giovinco and Mark Delgado secured a 2-0 victory at Sports Illustrated Stadium, then known as Red Bull Arena.
ONE STEP FORWARD
The Reds enter Matchday 31 following a pair of dramatic results at home in the space of five days. On Saturday, October 10, TFC scored twice in stoppage time to complete a 2-1 comeback victory over arch-rivals CF Montréal in the 401 Derby at BMO Field. After Montréal took the lead through Daniel Ríos in the 52nd minute, Lewis Morgan volleyed home his first TFC goal in the 93rd minute before Djordje Mihailovic sealed the turnaround two minutes later, finishing Theo Corbeanu’s delivery following a pass from Richie Laryea. Niklas Dorsch recorded his first assist for the club on Morgan’s equalizer, while Mihailovic’s winner earned Energy Moment of the Matchday presented by Celsius honours for Matchday 29 and was nominated for Goal of the Matchday. The two goals, scored 116 seconds apart, secured all three points and extended Toronto’s unbeaten regular season run against Montréal to six consecutive meetings (4W-2T) dating back to May 18, 2024.

Four nights later, TFC and Orlando City SC played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at BMO Field. After Lewis Morgan and Theo Corbeanu twice put the Reds ahead, Orlando struck twice in six minutes through Antoine Griezmann and Daryl Dike to take a 3-2 lead in the 83rd minute. Toronto responded in the 90th minute when Matheus Pereira converted the rebound from Djordje Mihailovic’s shot to secure a vital point. Pereira’s first goal for the club earned Energy Moment of the Matchday presented by Celsius honours for Matchday 30, as the Reds claimed another valuable result at home.

TEAM OF THE MATCHDAY
On Thursday, Theo Corbeanu was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday (bench) for Matchday 30 following his electric performance against Orlando City SC. TFC took the lead in the 26th minute when Corbeanu’s first-time cross from the right found Lewis Morgan, who headed past Orlando goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau. The assist marked Corbeanu’s fifth of the 2026 MLS season and 15th goal contribution in MLS play. After Martín Ojeda equalized from the penalty spot, Toronto regained the lead four minutes into the second half when Dániel Sallói redirected the rebound from Niklas Dorsch’s saved effort into Corbeanu’s path for a close-range finish. The 49th minute strike was Corbeanu’s 10th goal for TFC and completed his first multi-goal contribution performance in MLS play for the club. Corbeanu also led TFC in distance covered (11.24 km), crosses (six) and key passes (three), while ranking joint-first in shots on target (two) and high-speed runs (37). The honour marks Theo Corbeanu’s third MLS Team of the Matchday selection since joining TFC in January 2025 and his first of the 2026 season. In total, Toronto FC have now earned 13 MLS Team of the Matchday selections during the 2026 MLS regular season – Josh Sargent (3), Niklas Dorsch (2), Luka Gavran (2), Emilio Aristizábal (1), José Cifuentes (1), Theo Corbeanu (1), Richie Laryea (1), Dániel Sallói (1) and Walker Zimmerman (1).
