Toronto FC II and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds shared points on Sunday in a 2-2 draw at the Ontario Soccer Centre.
Toronto FC loanee Nick Hagglund and Raheem Edwards were the goal scorers for the Young Reds in the home opener.
Hagglund opened up the scoring in front of a sold out crowd, getting a head onto the out swinging corner from Edwards in the 12th minute of the match.
Edwards nearly made it two for the Young Reds in the 40th minute but Riverhounds keeper Hunter Gilstrap tipped his low shot just wide.
Pittsburgh found the equalizer just a minute after.
A great passing display in midfield ended with Romeo Parkes hitting a low shot past TFC II keeper Alex Bono.
Raheem Edwards had another man-of-the-match performance and was rewarded with a penalty in the 55th minute.
Edwards turned the Riverhounds defender inside out on the left side of the pitch before being hauled down in the box. He would take the penalty and calmly place his shot into the bottom right corner of the net.
The visitors leveled the match in the 91st minute off a free kick. Conor Branson ran up as the second free kick taker and placed a low shot into the left corner past Bono.
It was a wild finish to the match as both teams shared great opportunities to net the game winner.
Toronto FC II is back at the Ontario Soccer Centre this upcoming Sunday, April 24, to take on FC Cincinnati at 4PM ET. Tickets are available at tfc2.ca
