Four Reds Called For World Cup Qualifiers

Toronto FC's Julian de Guzman and Terry Dunfield called for Canada.

Four members of Toronto FC have received call-ups for their national teams ahead of qualifying matches for the 2014 World Cup, and international friendlies.

[inline_node:7438]Midfielders Julian de Guzman and Terry Dunfield have been called to represent Canada as they face St. Lucia at BMO Field in Toronto on Friday September 2. Canada’s second match is set for September 6 against Puerto Rico in Bayamón. de Guzman has earned 47 caps in his career for Canada and scored four goals while Dunfield has six caps to his name and one goal for Canada.

Forward Javier Martina has been called by his native Curacao for both of their qualifying matches, first against Antigua & Barbuda on September 2 and against Haiti on September 6. Martina earns his first call for Curacao after featuring for the Dutch U-19 and U-20 teams from 2004 to 2008. Curacao became an official member of FIFA in March of this year after taking the international spot of the Netherlands Antilles.

Ryan Johnson has also received a call-up to the Jamaican national team for their friendly match on September 2 against Ecuador. Johnson has been capped 13 times for Jamaica in his career and has scored five goals.
