Toronto FC forward Emilio Aristizábal has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday (bench) for Matchday 12 following his second-half brace in the Reds’ 4-2 loss against Inter Miami CF at BMO Field on Saturday.

Trailing by four goals following three quick-fire Miami strikes in a 19-minute second-half spell, TFC got on the scoresheet after capitalizing on a defensive error from David Ayala inside the box, with Dániel Sallói squaring the ball for substitute Emilio Aristizábal to tap home from close range.

The 82nd minute finish marked Aristizábal’s second goal for Toronto after opening his account against Atlanta United on April 25.

Aristizábal then added his second of the afternoon eight minutes later, powering home a header from Kobe Franklin’s right-wing cross to cut the deficit to two.

The 90th minute strike completed the Colombian striker’s first brace for TFC, with both goals coming in the span of eight second-half minutes.

Along with his brace, the Colombian forward covered 3.52 kilometres and reached a top speed of 28.21 km/h during his 30-minute cameo off the bench, while also recording team-highs in shots on target (2) and aerial challenges (3).

The honour marks Emilio Aristizábal first MLS Team of the Matchday selection with Toronto FC since joining the club in February. In total, Toronto FC have now earned six MLS Team of the Matchday selections during the 2026 MLS regular season – Emilio Aristizábal (1), José Cifuentes (1), Luka Gavran (1), Richie Laryea (1), Josh Sargent (1) and Walker Zimmerman (1).
