Chapman, Osorio, Ricketts called into Canadian National Team for Concacaf Nations League Qualifying

Chapman Osorio Ricketts Split

Canada Soccer announced its national team roster today which included three members of Toronto FC. Midfielders Jay Chapman, Jonathan Osorio and forward Tosaint Ricketts have all been called into Canadian National team head coach, John Herdman’s side for a Concacaf Nations League Qualifying match against U.S. Virgin Islands. The match will take place on Sunday, September 9 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.


Chapman, 24, has earned two caps and scored one goal for Canada. His lone goal came in his senior team debut on January 22, 2017, as Canada recorded a 4-2 friendly victory over Bermuda. His most recent cap came on September 2, 2017 in a 2-0 victory against Jamaica during an international friendly. Chapman has appeared in 19 matches registering two goals (MLS, Canadian Championship and the Concacaf Champions League) for TFC this season.


Osorio, 26, has earned 20 caps for Canada, scoring two goals. His most recent cap came on March 24, 2018 in a 1-0 victory against New Zealand during an international friendly. Osorio has appeared in 35 matches registering 16 goals (MLS, Canadian Championship and the Concacaf Champions League) for TFC this season.


Ricketts, 31, has earned 58 caps for Canada, scoring 16 goals. His most recent cap came on March 24, 2018 in a 1-0 victory against New Zealand during an international friendly. Ricketts has appeared in 20 matches registering four goals (MLS, Canadian Championship and the Concacaf Champions League) for TFC this season.
