Toronto FC II (11W-11L-4T, 39 points) recorded their third consecutive MLS NEXT Pro victory with a 4-2 win over Columbus Crew 2 (12W-9L-5T, 45 points) on Tuesday afternoon, courtesy of goals from Bryce Boneau, Daniel Stampatori, Damar Dixon and Luca Costabile at BMO Training Ground.
Toronto FC II Head Coach Gianni Cimini made four changes from the side’s 2-1 win against FC Cincinnati 2 last Friday with Daniel Stampatori, Gabriel Mikina, Richard Chukwu and Fletcher Bank returning to the starting eleven in place of Lazar Stefanovic, Stefan Kapor, Lucas Dawson and Malik Henry.
The Young Reds got off to a blistering start in the opening half of Tuesday’s rescheduled MLS NEXT Pro encounter, taking an early lead through Bryce Boneau. The American midfielder opened the after picking out the bottom-right corner with a precise, low effort following a short pass from Fletcher Bank.
The fifth minute opener marked Boneau’s third consecutive match with a goal contribution, having recorded two goals and one assist during that span, while Bank registered his 10th goal contribution (four goals, six assists) of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season.
TFC II doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark following a slick passing sequence, as Marko Stojadinovic picked out Daniel Stampatori on the edge of the penalty area. The Canadian defender set himself up with a touch and rifled a powerful effort past goalkeeper Keller Abbott and into the bottom-left corner.
The 30th minute strike marked Stampatori’s first professional goal for TFC II, while Stojadinovic registered an assist for the second consecutive match after he set up Bryce Boneau’s for last Friday’s game-winner against FC Cincinnati 2.
The hosts added a third goal 90 seconds later through another flowing team move. Bank again turned provider, picking out the run of Damar Dixon, who calmly guided a composed side-footed finish into the back of the net to make it 3-0.
The 31st minute effort marked the Canadian winger’s eighth goal contribution of the season (six goals, two assists), while Bank recorded his team-leading seventh assist of the 2026 campaign.
Columbus Crew 2 pulled one back in the 65th minute when Chase Adams latched onto Kevin Gbamblé’s through ball and slotted his effort home.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 85th minute when Johann Chirinos was shown a straight red card for a lunging tackle on substitute Lucas Dawson.
Crew 2 were awarded a penalty in the 89th minute after Immanuel Ewing’s cross struck Daniel Stampatori’s hand inside the box, with Kevin Gbamblé stepping up to convert from 12 yards and make it 3-2.
The Young Reds, however, raced straight down the other end and put the game to bed when substitute Lucas Dawson found Luca Costabile in space on the left, with the Danish defender blasting a powerful effort beyond an outstretched Keller Abbott in the Columbus net.
The 90th minute strike marked Costabile’s first professional goal, while TFC Academy product Dawson registered his third assist for Toronto FC II.
Toronto FC II’s four-goal display sealed another important three points and extended the Young Reds’ winning streak to three matches as the side continued their push for an MLS NEXT Pro Playoff spot.
TFC II hit the road next to face Orlando City B on Sunday, September 13. Kick-off from Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and will be available to watch globally on MLSNEXTPro.com and OneFootball.
