Toronto FC II (11W-13L-4T, 39 points) closed out their 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season with a 1-3 loss against New England Revolution II (12W-8L-8T, 48 points) on Sunday afternoon at York Lions Stadium.
Toronto FC II Head Coach Gianni Cimini made three changes for his side’s season finale with Daniel Stampatori, Lazar Stefanovic and Luca Costabile starting in defence in place of Marko Stojadinovic, Reid Fisher and Richard Chukwu.
TFC II created several opportunities in search of the opener during a lively first half in front of their home faithful.
The hosts came within inches of breaking the deadlock twice, with Jahmarie Nolan rattling the crossbar in the 30th minute before Abundance Salaou struck the woodwork with a thunderous effort from distance in the 42nd minute.
New England Revolution II took the lead against the run of play a minute later when Damario McIntosh’s cross was headed home by former Young Red Myles Morgan.
TFC II responded immediately, however, with Lucas Dawson teeing up Luca Costabile, who unleashed an unstoppable left-footed strike from the top of the box and into the top corner.
The 45th minute equalizer marked Costabile’s fourth goal contribution (two goals, two assists) and Dawson’s fifth (one goal, four assists) of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, sending the two sides into the break level at 1-1.
The Young Reds made a triple change at half-time with Abundance Salaou, Damar Dixon and Bryce Boneau making way for Raequan Campbell-Dennis, Tristan Blyth and Marko Stojadinovic.
The visitors restored the advantage in the 62nd minute when Javaun Mussenden’s long-range effort took a looping deflection off Gabriel Mikina on its way into the net.
Revolution II added a third and final goal when Damario McIntosh completed his brace in the 84th minute, sealing the 3-1 victory and a postseason berth for the visitors.
