Toronto FC II announce York Lions stadium as home field for 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season

Toronto FC II announced today that York Lions Stadium will be the official home field of the team for the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Toronto FC II will host New York City FC II on April 10 in their 2022 home opener at York Lions Stadium, with kick-off set for 1:00 p.m. ET. The inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season will see TFC II compete in the Eastern Conference’s Northeast Division alongside New England Revolution II, New York City FC II, Philadelphia Union II and Rochester NY FC. The Young Reds will play 10 of their 12 regular season home matches at the York Lions Stadium and two matches at BMO Field, on April 30 against FC Cincinnati 2 and May 14 against New England Revolution II.

Originally built for the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games, York Lions Stadium is a state-of-the-art LEED certified sport and athletics complex located on the campus of York University. In addition to hosting several track and field competitions including the 2017 Invictus Games and 2017 North American Indigenous Games, York Lions Stadium is home to the York Lions (York University’s varsity teams), the Toronto Arrows (Major League Rugby) and York United FC (Canadian Premier League). In 2021, the stadium’s original natural grass playing field was expanded in size and replaced with a FIFA Quality Pro Certified artificial turf surface, suitable for world-class sporting events. York Lions Stadium is located directly across from the Pioneer subway station and is in close proximity to Highways 407 and 400.

All MLS NEXT Pro games will be streamed live on mlsnextpro.com.
