Match Recap - Toronto FC II at Orlando City B

Dunn vs. OCB

ORLANDO, Fla. – Toronto FC II made its League One debut Friday night, defeating Orlando City B, 2-0, at Montverde Academy. Toronto looked the better side throughout the match, but didn’t break the deadlock until early on in the second half after Orlando was reduced to 10 men. OCB’s Emmanuel Hagen was shown a second yellow card for a foul just outside the penalty area in the 46th minute, forcing Orlando to play down a man for the second consecutive match.

Following the sending off, Tsubasa Endoh struck the ensuing free kick on frame, forcing goalkeeper Christian Herrera to punch it away and out for a corner. Luca Petrasso connected on a volley with the service to the back post from the corner to score TFC II’s first League One goal and give the visitors the lead.

Orlando had a chance to draw themselves level when Ates Diouf nicked the ball back in TFC II's defensive third and played Jordan Bender through. Bender struck a low shot on frame, but goalkeeper Eric Klenofsky was equal to it and the hosts remained down a goal. As Orlando pressed for an equalizer, Jordan Perruzza sealed the three points for Toronto with a good piece of skill in the 86th minute. Perruzza received a pass from Matthew Srbely, turned, and calmly chipped the ball over an onrushing Herrera to double the advantage and take all three points back to Toronto.
