Young Reds Grab Three Points Against Rochester

TFC II - Malik Johnson

Toronto FC II finally grabbed three points at home.

After a very quiet first half between Toronto FC II and the Rochester Rhinos, Luca Uccello & Malik Johnson found the back of the net on their way to a 2-1 victory.

Toronto took the lead at the 78th minute as Bubacarr Jobe found substitute Luca Uccello in the Rochester box with a nice through ball. Uccello took a smart first touch and then slotted the ball home with ease.

That was Luca Uccello’s first goal of the season.

The Young Reds could have rested on their lead but they continued to push forward. Malik Johnson sealed the deal in the 91st minute with a brilliant solo effort on the counter attack.

The 18-year old picked up the ball near the top of the box and fired the ball in to the top corner.  Johnson is now tied for the lead in team scoring with Raheem Edwards at 4 goals.

Toronto FC II now turn their focus to Wednesday as they take on their rival FC Montreal.
