Sebastian Giovinco was named to MLS team of the week on Tuesday after a fantastic performance against the Portland Timbers last Saturday.

The Atomic Ant registered the game's only goal in stunning fashion, punishing a left footed drive past the outstretched arm of Timbers keeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey.

MLSSoccer.com's Ben Baer was full of praise for the 28-year-old:

"[He] was active, engaged and aggressive from the onset. He scored a well-taken goal from distance, but also pulled off a number of helpful flicks and orchestrated several of TFC’s dangerous attacks in TFC's 1-0 win."

Benoit Cheyrou was named to the bench after yet another calm, reliable performance in front of TFC's back four.
