Toronto FC (3-4-1, 10 pts) welcome New England Revolution (1-5-1, 4 pts) to BMO Field for the second and final regular season match-up between the two Eastern Conference clubs on Saturday evening. The Matchday 10 encounter kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and can be viewed on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.

Continuing their 2024 Major League Soccer campaign, the Reds will be looking to get back to winning ways at home after recording victories against Charlotte FC and Atlanta United at BMO Field in 2024. TFC hold a 11W-16L-13T all-time record through their first 40 meetings with the Revolution and recently beat the Revs 1-0 at Gillette Stadium on March 3.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Toronto FC host conference rival New England Revolution at BMO Field for their fourth home match of the 2024 MLS season on Saturday evening. TFC hold a 117W-83L-77T all-time record (428 points) in MLS regular season matches played on home soil, after recording a pair of victories and a loss through the Reds’ first three home matches at BMO Field in 2024.

AN ODE TO THE PAST

Toronto FC welcome New England Revolution, one of only ten original MLS teams in 1996, for the 41st regular season encounter in the all-time series between the two clubs. Historically, TFC hold a 11-16-13 all-time record through their first 40 meetings with the Revolution. The Reds have scored 30 goals and won six times through 17 matches against the Revs at BMO Field, with the visitors winning five matches and the teams sharing the spoils on six other occasions. TFC’s last victory against the Revolution at BMO Field came on March 17, 2019, when goals from Ayo Akinola, Jordan Hamilton and Jozy Altidore secured the hosts a 3-2 win in their 2019 MLS Home Opener in Toronto.

Most recently, the Reds beat New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium by a 1-0 scoreline, courtesy of Lorenzo Insigne’s MLS Goal of the Matchday 3 winner, earlier this season on March 3.

THE CLIMB CONTINUES

Toronto FC return home to BMO Field to play their first home match since March 30, after a pair of road losses against Vancouver Whitecaps and Charlotte FC. Last Saturday, the Reds fell short of a comeback result, losing 3-2 to the Crown at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Substitute Prince Owusu scored two equalizers for TFC in the second half before Patrick Agyemang notched the winner for the hosts in the 85th minute. Italian Federico Bernardeschi registered his first assist and Canadian Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty registered his second assist of the 2024 Major League Soccer season on the night.

TEAM OF THE MATCHDAY

Toronto FC forward Prince Owusu was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday 9 following his performance off the bench against Charlotte FC last weekend. Entering the match at the start of the second half, Owusu made an instant impact when he tapped home Bernardeschi’s low cross to equalize for the Reds in the 49th minute, before doubling his tally when he converted Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty’s cross in the 78th minute. The performance marked Owusu’s first brace for Toronto FC and the club’s first brace since Jonathan Osorio recorded a pair of goals against FC Cincinnati on September 30, 2023. Owusu’s Matchday 9 selection as a substitute marked his first-ever MLS Team of the Matchday honour.

ONCE A RED (NOW A REV)

For the second time this campaign, the Reds will square off against a familiar face and former Red in New England Revolution’s Mark-Anthony Kaye on Saturday evening. A product of the TFC Academy, the Canadian midfielder native joined his hometown club via trade on July 8, 2022, and made a combined 30 appearances for the Reds before joining the Revolution via trade in July 2023. Since joining, Kaye has made 26 combined appearances and recently scored his first goal as a Rev against CA Independiente in the Concacaf Champions Cup on February 29, 2024.
