Toronto FC Academy Director Anthony Capotosto will be a presenter on Thursday, March 18, at Ontario Soccer’s first virtual program, “Play ON! E-Learning Series,” presented by Respect in Sport. Capotosto, in his third season as TFC Academy director, will lead a discussion on virtual training in the Academy.
“This is a great initiative from Ontario Soccer to bring the community together to share information and learn from one another,“ said Capotosto. “It’s just another way to strengthen our existing partnership.”
Topics that will be discussed by Capotosto include:
- Adaptations in strength and conditioning made during COVID.
- Virtual best practices, reporting and testing implemented to enhance the strength and conditioning process for TFC Academy players.
- Changes in strength/conditioning and testing for players in the future.
- Advice on how players can prepare themselves better physically to transition from the virtual training environment to team practical training this season.
Throughout the series, Ontario Soccer will offer a weekly online session and practical take-aways designed to appeal to Ontario Soccer clubs, academies, districts, Leagues, administrators, coaches, managers, volunteers, parents, players, officials, etc.
“I’m always happy to engage with those who are interested in knowing what we’re doing in our Academy,“ Capototso said. “And I’m also interested to learn how others programs have managed the virtual period. We’re all looking to achieve the same objective, which is to make the most of our time during the stay-at-home order, while ensuring a safe transition back to the field for our players.”
