eMLS League Series One

2019 eMLS season kicks off in LA

PhilB94 will begin his pursuit of the 2019 eMLS Cup next week as he takes part in the eMLS League Series One presented by PlayStation in Los Angeles. The competition will feature 22 FIFA athletes each representing an MLS club.

This is the first of two League Series events to be held leading up to the eMLS Cup in March. The second League Series event is going down in February in Dallas. Both League Series events ultimately help determine the seeding for the eMLS Cup.

Last season Phil showed well at the inaugural eMLS Cup, losing in the conference semi-finals on penalty kicks.

So far this year Phil has represented the Reds at two high profile tournaments. Phil put together a great run at the EA FUT Champions Cup in November going all the way to the quarterfinals. A week later he went 2-3 in the swiss round at the PGL Cup picking up important FIFA Global Series Points.

Overall Phil has picked up 640 Global Series Points to date. Think of these points as ranking points similar to the FIFA World Rankings. Currently, Phil sits in 16th in the World on PS4, second of all the eMLS players. Phil can grab up to 850 Global Points this eMLS season.

The Global Series Points help Phil qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup. The top 60 players across the globe at the end of May will qualify for the Global Series Playoffs, where 32 players will gain entrance to the Grand Final to compete to be crowned World Champion.

On Tuesday morning Phil will play 11 games in the regular season taking on each Eastern Conference opponent once. The event is being held at the Esports Arena in Santa Ana, California. These games will not be streamed but you can follow all the action by following @TorontoFC on twitter and checking out Phil's Instagram takeover.

Following the regular season, the top four players from each conference will qualify for the playoff portion of the event. The playoffs get underway at 9:30 PM ET and will be streamed on Phil’s Twitch Channel. The playoffs will culminate with a grand final between the top player from the Eastern and Western conference. The winner will be crowned League Series One Champion and take home a trophy and a cash prize.

Something unique to eMLS play is that Phil must include three MLS players in his gameday squad, including two Toronto FC players. So we may be seeing lots of Seba come Tuesday.

Be sure to keep up with all the action from LA by following both @TorontoFC and @Philb94_ on Twitter. And throw Phil a follow on Twitch to be notified when the stream goes live on Tuesday.
