The Reds are off and running in league play, bagging their first three points on Friday night vs. Real Salt Lake. The win saw four changes to Greg Vanney's lineup, but it was a pair of returning starters who made the biggest impact in the 3-1 victory.

Bagging his 49th and 50th goals in a TFC uniform, Jozy Altidore earned Man of the Match honours en route to his first Team of the Week selection of 2018. Altidore did well to beat RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute before a sweet strike with his left peg doubled the TFC advantage just before the stroke of halftime.

Along the backline, Gregory van der Wiel acquitted himself nicely to help stymie a potent RSL attack. The natural right back was deployed alongside Drew Moor as a centreback, but the change hardly phased the former Dutch international. Van der Wiel did well to limit chances for the likes of Joao Plata, Luis Silva and Jefferson Savarino.
