INJURY UPDATE: Hagglund, Mavinga, Morrow, Vazquez

Hagglund Vazquez Tigres

TORONTO – As the Concacaf Champions League rolls on, Toronto FC's depth will continue to be tested. And the challenge just got that much tougher, as head coach Greg Vanney revealed a setback on the injury front.

Defender Nick Hagglund will be out for approximately six weeks after sustaining “a reasonably significant hamstring strain.”

“It was in training late last week,” Vanney explained during Monday's prematch press conference. "It was an awkward situation where he wasn’t running, he just got his body caught in an awkward situation where something had to give.”

Vanney also provided updates on the trio that missed Friday night's 3-1 win over Real Salt Lake, but would not deliver a final verdict on the statuses of Chris Mavinga, Justin Morrow, or Victor Vazquez.

“They all completed training today. We’ll see how things progress tomorrow.”

The Reds return to BMO Field on Tuesday night to take on Liga MX side Club América in Leg 1 of the Concacaf Champions League semifinal.
