Academy Collegiate Roundup: Week 3

This is the Toronto FC Academy collegiate roundup where we keep tabs on our Academy graduates competing in collegiate programs across the continent. There are currently 15 grads lacing them up in both the NCAA and U Sports.

Player Spotlight

Robert Boskovic – Ryerson University

Position: Defender

Major: Geographic Analysis

How have you enjoyed your season thus far?

Boskovic: “It's been really exciting so far, I feel like as a team and player we've been dominant in all our games and showed that we're still as good as last year’s squad, maybe even better.”

What is your goal for the school year?

Boskovic: “My goal for the school season is to obviously to challenge for the National Championship and just overall sharpen on all my skills as a player. Playing at Ryerson gives me the opportunities to work on my leadership skills, because of where I come from I feel like I can better the players around me when I'm on the pitch and be that vocal leader.”

What are you looking to work on this year?

Boskovic: “Something I'm looking to work on and get better at is definitely off the pitch. So stuff like conditioning, weight training and speed work which I feel like will put me in a better position for when I return. The trainers and facilities at Ryerson give me the best opportunity for that.”

How did your time with the Academy prepare you for your collegiate career?

Boskovic: “The academy gave me a professional surrounding like no other youth team I played for and this truly pushed me to become and perform as a better player giving me the chance to get a look from the coaches at Ryerson and allowing me to play for them.”
