Bradley and Giovinco Named to MLS Fan XI

Major League Soccer (MLS) announced today that Toronto FC captain Michael Bradley and Sebastian Giovinco were named to the 2017 MLS All-Star Game Fan XI presented by Target. The MLS All-Stars will face the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday, August 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The match will broadcast on TSN in Canada.


This marks the third MLS All-Star Game selection for both Bradley and Giovinco as members of Toronto FC. In addition, this is the third-time Bradley has been named to the MLS Fan XI (2014, 2015, 2017) and second consecutive year for Giovinco (2016, 2017). Along with being named to the MLS Fan XI, Giovinco also won the EA Sports “More Than A Vote” challenge. This season, Bradley has made 19 combined appearances with two assists between MLS league matches and the Canadian Championship. Giovinco has appeared in 17 combined matches (MLS and Canadian Championship) and has scored 12 goals and added five assists.


Toronto FC’s all-time All-Star list includes: Ronnie O’Brien (2007), Jimmy Brennan (2008), Dwayne De Rosario (2009, 2010), Jermain Defoe (2014), Jozy Altidore (2015), Michael Bradley (2014, 2015, 2017) and Sebastian Giovinco (2015, 2016, 2017).


MLS All-Star head coach, Veljko Paunović (Chicago Fire) will select the match day roster from the pool of eligible players, consisting of the Fan XI, two MLS Commissioner picks and remaining players on the official All-Star Fan XI ballot.
