2017 Academy Update: May 29 - June 4

TFC III vs. Sanjaxx

The Toronto FC Academy Teams had a perfect week, going undefeated across the board in league play! Here is your Academy update: 


Toronto FC III wins fourth in a row

Toronto FC III was victorious on Sunday afternoon defeating Prostars FC by a score of 3-0 in League 1 Ontario play. The win is the Reds' fourth in a row (1 Cup, 3 league), and improves their record to 4-2-0 on the season. 


TFC III opened the scoring courtesy of a first-half penalty kick converted by Dante Campbell. In the second half, Ethan Beckford scored his league-leading seventh of the season, and Daniel Da Silva slotted home his second of the year. 


Brogan Engbers became the third keeper to earn a clean sheet for TFC III, joining teammates Phil Di Bennardo and Gianluca Catalano. 


TFC III returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Windsor to take on Windsor TFC. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM, follow @TorontoFCIII on Twitter for updates from the match. 


OSL Update

The Toronto FC Academy U-17 Team (2000) that competes in the OSL U-21 Elite Division defeated DUFA 6-1 this weekend. Steffan Yeates and Terique Mohammed both recorded a brace, while Zakaria Abdi and Ryan Robinson added the others. The U-17 team is now 2-0-0 on the season. 


The TFC Academy U-16 Team (2001) that competes in the OSL U-21 Provincial Division won a pair of matches last week. They were victorious 3-1 in a midweek clash against the Markham Lightning. Daniel Raimondo, Brayden Borutskie, Alexander Krakowiak-Castro were the goal scorers. 


The U-16 Team then went on to defeat the KNSC Lions 3-0 on Saturday. Daniel Assaf, Antonio Carlini, and Themi Antonoglou picked up the goals for the Reds. 


OPDL Update

The Toronto FC Academy U-15 team (2002) that competes in the OPDL U-16 division defeated Richmond Hill 4-1 on Sunday. A brace from Jacen Russell-Rowe and goals from Bennet Almeida and Matthew Wrobal paced the Reds. 


The Toronto FC Academy U-14 team (2003) that competes in the OPDL U-15 division defeated Markham 6-1 on Sunday. The match saw goals from Stefano Capano x2, Kosi Thompson x2, NaKye Greenidge-Duncan, plus a Markham Own Goal.


The Toronto FC Academy U-13 team (2004) that competes in the OPDL U-14 division defeated Markham 6-2 on Saturday. Braces from Dekwon Barrow and Markus Cimermancic, and goals from Keegan Walker and Christopher Korn lead the Reds.
