Armando Cooper Called Into Panamanian National Team

Toronto FC midfielder Armando Cooper has been named to Panamanian Head Coach Hernán Darío Gómez’s roster for a friendly match. Panama will meet Mexico on Tuesday, October 11 at Soldier Field in Chicago, IL. 


Cooper, 28, has appeared in four matches, starting in two and registering one assist for Toronto FC this season. Cooper has earned 75 caps and scored five goals for the Panamanian national team. He made his debut with Panama on October 7, 2006 against El Salvador. He registered his first goal for Panama on January 16, 2011, in a 2–0 victory over Nicaragua during the 2011 Copa Centroamericana. Cooper has represented Panama at the 2016 Copa América Centenario and the 2011 and 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments.
