Tosaint Ricketts called into Canadian National Team

Toronto FC forward Tosaint Ricketts has been named to Canadian Head Coach Benito Floro’s 23-man roster for a pair of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Qualifying matches. Canada will meet Honduras on Friday, September 2 at Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras and El Salvador on Tuesday, September 6 at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia. 

Ricketts, 29, has appeared in six matches, registering two goals for Toronto FC this season. Ricketts has earned 50 caps and scored 12 goals for the Canadian national team. He made his debut for Canada on February 9, 2011 in a friendly match against Greece. He scored his first goal for Canada during a 2–2 friendly match against Ecuador on June 1, 2011 at BMO Field. In addition, Ricketts has represented Canada at the 2011, 2013 and 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournaments.
