Match Recap: TFC 1, D.C. 0

Sebastian Giovinco found the back of the net before everyone could take their seat, and his goal proved enough for Toronto FC.

Toronto FC collected three more points in their long, season-opening road trip on Saturday night by grabbing a 1-0 victory over D.C. United at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.

The game's loan goal came in the opening seconds through Giovinco, who fired home after Marco Delgado slid to clip a ball in the Italian's direction.

D.C. United had chances to pull the game level, but Fabian Espindola and Co. were unable to find a way past Clint Irwin.

TFC moved to 2-2-2 on the year with the victory while United dropped to 1-3-3.
