Jozy Altidore Grabs Late Winner For U.S vs. Canada

Three Toronto FC players featured in Friday night's friendly match between the United States and Canada at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA.

Both countries concluded their winter camps before all important World Cup qualifiers in March, with Canada looking to qualify for the hexagonal stage for the first time since the 1998 World Cup cycle.

Will Johnson, Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore will link back up with Toronto FC and head to the six with the team on Monday. First they had to face off in a game that would be decided late.

Altidore came to U.S. camp early. Looking to put two injury plagued seasons behind him, the TFC striker dropped 10 pounds and has been impressive throughout January. The 26-year-old connected on an excellent cross from Ethan Finlay for the game's only goal on Friday night, securing a 1-0 win for the Yanks.

"He looked good the whole camp," said U.S. head coach Jürgen Klinsmann. "He's hungry, wants to prove himself. He deserved that goal."
