Michael Bradley has been named the 2014 Man of the Year by the Red Patch Boys, one of Toronto FC's most vocal supporter groups.

The award is given to the player that best exemplifies outstanding on field performance, leadership and community service.

Previous winners of the award include Jim Brennan, Carl Robinson, Dwayne De Rosario, Stefan Frei and Steven Caldwell.

Bradley impressed in his first year with the club, leading TFC to their most wins and points in franchise history.

The American international outlasted a daunting schedule that saw him leave Roma for Toronto in January, participate in the World Cup and return to finish out the MLS regular season before undergoing surgery on his foot.

“It gives me a great deal of pride and honour to be named the Red Patch Boys’ 2014 Man of the Year,” Bradley said this week.

"Having played around the world and experiencing different cultures and supporter groups I can honestly say the Red Patch Boys are among the best I’ve seen. The passion they bring to our club does not go unnoticed by the players. This means a lot to me personally and I want to thank the members of the Red Patch Boys for this prestigious award and their continued support.”
