Wilmington, NC – Wilmington Hammerheads FC will host their Major League Soccer affiliate Toronto FC in a friendly match on Wednesday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Legion Stadium. The match falls in the middle of Toronto’s three-week gap in their June schedule due to the 2014 World Cup.

“This match is a wonderful opportunity for our players to meet the coaching staff from Toronto and play the team,” said Wilmington Hammerheads Head Coach David Irving. “It provides the opportunity for our players to get more playing time, especially for those that may not receive much during our regular season. It is nice that we can coordinate a match of this caliber as a part of our affiliation.”

This friendly match that will not affect the Hammerheads overall league points for the regular season, nor will it change any individual player statistics.

There will be a meet and greet session on the field from 5:45 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. for the general public prior to the start of the match.

Tickets for the event are available for purchase online, at the Hammerheads front office, or at the ticket booth when the gates open at Legion Stadium the day of the match.
