Saturday Test

Toronto FC packed up many of its players and coaches, returning home on Friday to prepare for Wednesday’s CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal first leg against LA Galaxy as reported on MLSsoccer.com.

The move leaves some of the trialists and Academy starlets that have dreams of making the first team with a chance to show why they deserve a spot in the BMO Field dressing room this upcoming season.

Toronto’s task won’t be easy Saturday night against Vancouver in the final of the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic. The Whitecaps have won all three of their games by a combined 7-0 margin.

The Reds have fared quite well though, scoring eight goals while conceding three with two wins and a draw in the group stage when near full strength.

That sets up an all-Canadian final between a pair of unbeaten teams Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET streamed online via TSN.ca (TSN2 will join the match in progress).

Toronto FC TV

It wasn’t just players and coaches that vacated Florida on Friday. Toronto FC’s digital team also returned home, meaning for the first time there will not be a video preview or postgame interviews from the Disney tournament on Saturday.

Regular online video coverage of first team players and coaches resumes Monday morning from the Rogers Centre ahead of the Champions League clash.

Dream Job Final 15

The Toronto FC Dream Job has narrowed down to its final 15 applicants. Five top vote getters are joined by 10 selected finalists for the next stage of the contest. Watch the video on the Toronto FC Facebook page for a detailed list.
