TFC Gears Up For Media Day

Media Day

Preseason Update

With every MLS team now out of the gate in 2012 preseason, several questions surround Toronto FC.

“Who and where are the new defenders?”

“What other players are at camp?”

“What’s the status of Richard Eckersley?”

“How many tickets sold for the Champions League match on March 7 versus LA Galaxy?”

Positively, these questions stem from anticipation this year rather than uncertainty like seasons past. The club will shed light on these and other matters Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET at the TFC Media Day, or #TFCMediaDay, if you are using Twitter and would like to be a part of the conversation.

Fans can watch the event live online Thursday and submit questions for players and the club anytime before and during broadcast on our live 2012 TFC Media Day page.

For the first three days of training camp Toronto players have been subjected to medical and fitness tests at BMO Field. The players will take to the pitch Thursday morning for the first time since returning to the city.

Following Thursday’s training session, the squad will make its way to the biggest media day in the club’s brief six year history, complete with a press conference, media scrums, multiple photo stations, various TV network sit down interviews, commercial partner and Team Up Foundation commitments, and the centre-piece of it all, stopping by for a chat at our TorontoFC.ca desk to interact live with TFC fans.

During the live show, Toronto FC's digital team will additionally engage supporters via its Facebook page, the club's YouTube channel, the micro-video site keek and share pictures using Instagram, like this one of Aaron Maund taken Monday morning when the 12th overall draft pick arrived at first day of training.

MLS All-Star Game

On Tuesday, Major League Soccer announced that the 2012 MLS All Star Game will be hosted by the Philadelphia Union at their home in Chester, Pennsylvania. GOL TV Canada’s Football Today hosts Lee Godfrey and Adrian Serioux talked about it on their Tuesday program.
