Suspended Frings To Miss Opener

Toronto FC players had the day off on Tuesday as the Reds get set to start what will be a very busy six days after the relative calm of last week leading to a 1-0 victory over Salt Lake at BMO Field.

TFC players and coaches will leave for Panama on Wednesday morning, where they will play in the CONCACAF Champions League (CCL) group stage opener against Tauro F.C., Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on Setanta Sports Canada. The Rogers Media channel is currently on a free preview through participating distributors.

Toronto does not have a training session scheduled in Panama, but the squad will take part in other exercises to remain relaxed ahead of Thursday's contest. Reds will be without influential midfielder Torsten Frings on the pitch in Panama. The former German international picked up two yellow cards in the Champions League preliminary round matches against Real Esteli F.C., forcing him to watch the first group stage game from the sidelines.
