Toronto FC forward Danny Koevermans was on MLSsoccer.com’s popular ExtraTime Radio podcast on Thursday afternoon.
Koevermans made his Toronto debut at BMO Field on Wednesday in a 1-0 defeat to FC Dallas in league play, but the forward took away some encouragement from his first match in Major League Soccer.

“I was surprised (to play 90 minutes),” said Koevermans. “It was a little like my preseason … I’ll try to do my best to get fitter and fitter”
The Dutch forward was genuinely disappointed not to get a draw out of Dallas.
“We worked until the last second to get a point. The fans were great, but it’s a shame that we didn’t get a point.”
Koevermans graciously described the match winning strike by Brek Shea as “a magnificent goal.”
The forward went on to shed some more light on the system that head coach and technical director Aron Winter is trying to implement in Toronto, as well as some differences in approach to the game between Holland and MLS.
