Toronto FC will be making a “major announcement” (as per its media advisory) on Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. ET from BMO Field.

The club could not confirm any details of the nature of this announcement, but TorontoFC.ca will have a live stream and chat from BMO Field via Toronto FC Live.

The day is shaping up to be a busy one in Toronto. Three hours after the announcement, the hometown Reds will host Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the first all-Canadian MLS contest at BMO Field (7:30 p.m. ET on TSN).

On Saturday, Toronto and Vancouver will meet again in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship Final second leg at BMO Field. This match was originally scheduled for May 25, but was abandoned after 60 minutes due to dangerous weather. Toronto holds an away goal edge from the first leg on May 18 (1-1 draw in Vancouver). A scoreless draw on Saturday will be enough to put TFC into the preliminary round of the 2011/12 CONCACAF Champions League.
