Toronto FC captain Maicon Santos is the Esquire Community Player of the Month for May.

Last month Maicon surprised two local rep girls teams when he visited their practices for a meet and greet, and offered some valuable training tips.  After recognizing one of the teams had inadequate balls to train with, Maicon purchased brand new adidas balls for each of the girls which were delivered to the team only 2 days later.  The girls, humbled by Maicon’s generosity, are paying it forward by donating their club balls and organizing a used uniform fundraiser for those less fortunate in Maicon’s honour.
