Mixed Weekend For Academy U19s

Toronto FC Academy U19 squad experienced mixed fortunes over the weekend. On Friday, the young Reds beat Montreal Impact Academy 3-1 in the Canadian Soccer League season opener at Lamport Stadium. Two nights later however, Toronto dropped a 2-1 decision to Mississauga Eagles FC at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke.

Mississauga played a tight, defensive formation to get the better of the Toronto squad, with Roshard Gibert and Nicolas Galle giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead.

Sergio Camargo responded for the Reds in second half stoppage time to spoil the clean sheet.

On Friday, Toronto received a hat-trick from Stefan Vukovic to beat Montreal 3-1 in U19 head coach Danny Dichio’s CSL coaching debut. Read More…
