Reds Find Attacking Options

Toronto FC's attack headed by (L-R) Stevanovic, Gordon and Martina.

Toronto FC's fifth match of the season will get underway Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. ET as the Reds host Los Angeles Galaxy on GOL TV Canada. Toronto is coming off a 1-1 draw away to San Jose, which was a physical match that required Alen Stevanovic and Alan Gordon to receive additional time off when the team trained on Tuesday.

The Reds held Los Angeles - the reigning 2010 MLS league champion (Supporters' Shield winner) - to a pair of scoreless draws last season. In 2011 Toronto has found new attacking options in Stevanovic, Gordon and Dutch forward Javier Martina. The three forwards are expected to lead the line for TFC against a stingy Los Angeles backline.

LA Galaxy are also coming off a 1-1 road draw to D.C. United. They watched two extra points slip out of their grasp due to a Charlie Davies penalty kick at the death. Davies and D.C. United will be Toronto FC's next opponent just three days after LA (Saturday, April 16) at BMO Field.

Wednesday's match is likely to be the first regular season appearance for Los Angeles midfielder David Beckham in Toronto. The former England captain had previously played at BMO Field in the 2008 MLS All-Star Game.
