Reds March Online Tuesday

Toronto FC players will be online Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. when TorontoFC.ca provides a live stream and chat from ‘Green Screen Day’ at Air Canada Centre. The event is not open to the public but can be viewed on the web.

The main purpose of the day is for players and coaches to take their headshots that are to be used in media material for the 2011 season. Being the shameless opportunists we are here on the content side of football, Toronto FC Live will make it into an interactive event.

Fans can pose questions to players which will be answered in the stream, along with other initiatives via Twitter that will make the Reds as accessible as ever.

On Tuesday morning Toronto will train ahead of the interactive event, one of their two sessions in the city before they travel west for the season opener.

Updates to the roster page have begun (player numbers and pictures for new arrivals still to come), which shows the Reds have filled some key vacancies, particularly at forward and midfield, but more signings are expected ahead of Saturday’s historic First Kick in Vancouver (6:30 p.m. ET on TSN).

Viewers don’t have to wait until Saturday however, to catch Major League Soccer action. On Tuesday night the 16th season kicks off from Seattle when Sounders FC plays host to Los Angeles Galaxy. The match can be seen live on GOL TV Canada at 9:30 p.m. ET.

In ticketing news, season ticket pacakges started arriving Monday and many excited seat holders have posted pictures and comments on social media. You can do so on Facebook and Twitter and tell us what you think. The Reds play their home opener against Portland on Saturday March 26 at 2 p.m. Single game tickets will go on sale March 18 but fans can still purchase half season pacakges online or by calling 416-360-GOAL (4625).
