On Toronto FC’s first full day at Calista Luxury Resort in Turkey, new Head Coach and Technical Director Aron Winter met up with an old friend from his homeland.

Winter spent time catching up with former Netherlands international teammate Ruud Gullit, who is in Antalya with Russian team Terek Grozny. Like Winter, Gullit is in the early stages of a new challenge having only taken the role of Head Coach with Terek earlier this month. It is the 48-year-old’s first management role since leaving LA Galaxy in August 2008.




Winter and Gullit played alongside each other many times on the world stage and were both part of the Holland squad that won the European Championship in 1988. Gullit was one of the people Winter turned to for advice about Major League Soccer before taking up his new post in Toronto.
