MLS Combine Gets Underway





Although Toronto FC does not hold a first round draft choice at the 2011 Major League Soccer SuperDraft for the moment (8th overall pick traded to Vancouver for Nathan Sturgis), barring any further transactions, the Reds can choose three of the 54 players to be selected from Baltimore on January 13.




Currently Toronto owns picks 26, 43 and 44.




Members of the new revamped TFC

are in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend for the 2011 adidas MLS Combine.  Players have been dispersed into four teams;
AdiPure
,
AdiPower
,
AdiZero
and
Jabulani
. The teams will square off in three matches over the next four days with its players hoping to be scouted for next week’s draft.

1:35 p.m. – AdiPure v. AdiPower




3:25 p.m. – Jabulani v. AdiZero




The league has advised that should there be any technical issues with live streaming, the games will still be archived in their entirety later Saturday on MLSsoccer.com.





The combine will continue right through Tuesday leading up to 2011 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday. TorontoFC.ca will have minute-by-minute coverage of the draft from the Baltimore Convention Center.
