Solid Group Of Defenders

Toronto FC trained in Chicago on Tuesday afternoon as they prepare to face the Fire at Toyota Park on Wednesday night (kick off 8:30 p.m. ET live on Rogers Sportsnet).

Maicon Santos was an unused substitute in the 1-0 defeat at FC Dallas on Saturday and the Brazilian forward continues to recover from a knee injury. He took part in the full training session with the squad.

“We will see how Maicon is doing tomorrow,” said Toronto coach Preki. He has trained today and looked o.k. but he hasn’t played for quite some time. If he plays against Chicago we will have to limit his minutes because he is not at his full speed and we don’t want to take any risks.”

Dwayne De Rosario, Julian de Guzman and Nana Attakora are all available again after missing Saturday’s game due to international duty. Attakora also missed the tie with Real Salt Lake due to suspension and Ty Harden has played the last two matches in his absence.

“Overall the group at the back has been fairly solid so let’s hope that whoever plays tomorrow will keep doing the same job,” said Preki.

Midfielder Martin Saric misses the match through suspension after his sending of in Dallas last weekend.
