North York Pitch Refurbishment

Toronto FC's players will be heading to North York this afternoon as to unveil the team’s first ever Pitch Refurbishment, powered by Kia. As part of
MLSE's Team Up Foundation
legacy programming the Reds have helped transform a pitch at G. Ross Lord Park (Dufferin and Finch).

The players will be there at 2:00 p.m. for a ceremonial first kick and to hold a special clinic with local kids. Mayor David Miller is also scheduled to be there along with other VIP guests.

Here’s some of the work that has been done:

New grass laid on the middle of the pitch where it was dangerously worn out.

Bleachers were repaired as people were not able to safely sit on them before.

Brand new player benches with creative awnings to protect players from the weather.

Maintenance plan put in place with the city to provide upkeep.

New netting for the goals.

Field signage.
