De Rosario Arrives At All-Star Game

Toronto FC captain Dwayne De Rosario arrived in Houston just after 10:30 a.m. local time ahead of tonight’s MLS All-Star match against Manchester United.

NOTE: tonight’s MLS All-Star match can be seen live on GOLTV Canada at 8:30 p.m. ET.

De Rosario played the full 90 minutes in Toronto’s 1-0 win over Motagua in the CONCACAF Champions League on Tuesday night and then took an early morning flight on Wednesday.

Returning to Houston for All-Star is a special moment for the Reds captain who won the MLS Cup during his time as a Houston Dynamo player. “It is great to be back,” he said. “Houston is a very special place for me because I had success here and have a lot of friends here. It will be a great night.”

De Rosario is unlikely to play more than half an hour in the match due to his participation in the Champions League match last night. Following the match he will fly directly to Kansas City where Toronto FC will face the Wizards in MLS on Saturday.

The city of Houston is decked out with MLS All-Star flavour. The front page of this morning’s Houston Chronicle has a big picture of Landon Donovan, and three pages of the sports section are dedicated to tonight’s match.
