Gargan Back In Training

Toronto FC defender Dan Gargan trained with the team in Oakville on Thursday afternoon and has now fully recovered from the groin injury that forced him to leave the loss in Philadelphia last week.

“I just felt a pop in my groin towards the end of the match so I wanted to come off as a precaution to make sure it didn’t get any worse,” said Gargan after training. “I spent a couple of days recovering but now I am back in training and feel fine.”

Nana Attakora and Ty Harden missed training on Thursday. Harden picked up a leg injury in training on Tuesday. “Ty is out and we will see what the situation is with Nana tomorrow and go from there,” said Coach Preki. The five Academy players that played against Bolton on Wednesday night all trained with the first team again on Thursday morning along with a couple of trialists.

Preki was pleased to get 45 minutes of game time for Mista on Maicon against Bolton and will continue to monitor their fitness before deciding how much time they will play on Saturday against FC Dallas. “We are not going to put them in a situation where they will struggle so we will slowly keep building their fitness and we will see where they are on Saturday,” he explained.
