Getting To The Game
:

Toronto FC return to action on Saturday night against Los Angeles Galaxy at BMO Field. Kick off is 7:30 p.m. Due to the G20 Summit and set-up for next month’s Honda Indy at Exhibition Place, expect it to take longer than usual to travel to the game and find parking. Parking lot 3 is not in use this weekend due to the Direct Energy Centre being used as the World Media Centre for the G20 Summit.

G20 Public Transportation:

Saturday 4 p.m. UPDATE:

All train service has been temporarily suspended at the request of local police. All trains currently in service will terminate at their respective destinations. We are working closely with law enforcement to ensure the safe movement of our passengers. Union Station has also been closed at the request of local police. An update will be provided when the situation changes.

G20 Highway Travel:

The highway system from Thursday, June 24th, will be very busy with road closures and delegate travel heading into the city. This will mean  traffic will be subjected to diversions or long delays on the highways and surrounding arterial roads, to allow the delegates a quick and safe passage to the downtown core. Getting Here Early

Make sure you don’t miss kick off! Get to the stadium early and visit Soccer Celebration outside BMO Field. It opens as usual two hours ahead of kickoff. Also, for every home match this season, your ticket to the game will also get you free grounds admission to Ontario Place on Matchday.

May 12, 2010 MLSE Release on the Toronto v. Los Angeles match on June 26:

Toronto FC and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) announced Tuesday that its June 26th match against the Los Angeles Galaxy at BMO Field will be played as scheduled and not moved due to the upcoming G20 Summit - scheduled for June 26 & 27, 2010. Kickoff for the match will be 730pm.

Toronto FC and MLSE have been working closely with local organizers and security forces to ensure that delays and disruptions are minimized on June 26, however, with limited parking on the CNE grounds, the Direct Energy Centre’s designation as the G20 Summit Media Centre, and a number of expected road closures and delays, supporters are encouraged to utilize public transit on game day.

“After discussing the G20 Summit with the local organizers and the RCMP, we determined that given the late-evening start of the game, there was no need to reschedule this match,” said Bob Hunter, executive vice-president of venues and entertainment for MLSE. “Also, it would have been difficult for Toronto FC to reschedule the match with the Galaxy given the teams and BMO Field/Exhibition Place schedules – that, coupled with the fact that our supporters are experienced in dealing with events on the Exhibition grounds throughout the summer, led us to this conclusion.”

Supporters are encouraged to visit www.torontofc.ca regularly for updates regarding the Galaxy match at BMO Field on June 26.
